Render Systems
We supply the core products used in modern render systems, from reinforced mesh and insulation adhesives through to primers, base coats, top coats and accessories. This category covers what tradespeople actually specify on site when installing external wall finishes over insulation and masonry.
The products here are selected for compatibility and performance, making it easy to build up a system without guesswork or mismatched materials.

What These Products Are Used For
Render Mesh
Reinforcement layer used between base coat and insulation boards to improve crack resistance and impact strength across wide areas.
C1 Insulation Adhesive
Used to stick insulation boards to masonry or external walls before rendering; suitable for most common substrates.
C2B Base Coat/Adhesive
Applied over insulation boards as the base layer that accepts mesh reinforcement; designed for strong bonding and system integrity.
Primer (C3)
Prepares the base surface for even render adhesion and colour consistency; especially useful on porous or uneven substrates.
Acrylic Render (C5)
Flexible, breathable render often used on new build and traditional masonry; durable and user-friendly on site.
Silicone Render Top Coat (C7)
Water-repellent, low-maintenance top coat for improved weather resistance and long-term finish performance.
G6 Flash / Render Accelerator
Additive used to speed up setting times in cool or damp conditions; useful for keeping programmes tight.
Insulation Fixings
Mechanical fixings for insulation boards where adhesive alone isn’t sufficient (e.g., high winds or heavy boards).
FAQ’s:
Do I need both adhesive and base coat when rendering over insulation?
Yes — the insulation adhesive fixes the boards to the wall, while the base coat (C2B) provides a surface to embed mesh and build the render up correctly.
What’s the difference between acrylic render and silicone top coat?
Acrylic render is the main finishing render with good flexibility and colour range. A silicone top coat adds water repellency and low maintenance properties, often used as the final layer over acrylic systems.
When should I use primer in a render system?
Use C3 primer on porous substrates (like old brick or blockwork) or where the base coat/bond needs more uniform adhesion. It helps reduce blotchy finishes and improves overall rendering consistency.
