Pipe & Fittings
Pipe and fittings form the core of plumbing installations, carrying water through the building and connecting fixtures, appliances and heating systems. Different pipe materials and connection types are used depending on the application, whether it’s waste pipe systems, water supply pipework or heating connections.
Our range includes solvent waste fittings, overflow components, compression fittings, push-fit systems, copper pipework and MDPE pipe used for external water supply connections.

Pipe Systems in Plumbing Installations
Different pipe systems are used depending on where the pipework sits within the building.
Solvent waste systems are typically used for sinks, basins and appliance waste pipes. These systems carry wastewater away from fixtures before connecting to the building’s external drainage system. You can view compatible underground drainage pipe systems used outside the property in our drainage section.
Overflow pipework allows excess water to discharge safely from tanks and cisterns when needed.
Copper pipework is commonly used for hot and cold water supply as well as heating systems, while push-fit pipe systems allow faster installation where pipe connections need to be made quickly on site.
MDPE pipe is usually used for underground water supply connections bringing mains water into the property. From there, the system connects to internal plumbing pipework and fittings.
FAQ’s:
When should solvent waste fittings be used instead of compression fittings?
Solvent waste fittings are typically used on permanent waste pipe installations where the joints are bonded together to form a sealed connection.
Why are rubber reducers used in waste pipe systems?
Rubber reducers allow pipes of different diameters to be connected while maintaining a flexible seal between the fittings.
What are push-fit pipe fittings used for?
Push-fit systems allow pipe connections to be made quickly without soldering or adhesives, which can speed up installation during plumbing work.
When is MDPE pipe used instead of copper pipe?
MDPE pipe is commonly used for underground water supply lines, particularly where the pipe runs from the mains connection to the building.
